Hello, everyone^^

How's your school life? I hope that you can enjoy it.?
Have you made a lot of friends??
I think it is really good practice for when you come to New Zealand.

Now, I can enjoy me NZ life at heart. I could make friends, and I feel that my listening and speakind skill is getting better (but of course it's not good enough yet). But, at the beginning of my NZ life, it was awful and I used to lost my confidence. When I was in Japan, I thought I'm good at English. BUT!!!! How dumb I am!! I realized that I'm really poor at English and there are many international students who are much better at English than me.... But anyway, I came to here right now, so I believe that my English is getting better and better. I think this experience will become precious, valuable memory for me life. So I'll never, never, never, never give up!!!(warai)

The thing what I want you to do, is to speak English with ALT or international student in your class. It's good practice to speak English. Don't be afraid of speaking English. I'm sure that if you keep on trying to speak English, you can enjoy NZ life more!!^^

Well, enjoy your school life!!?
lots of love,?
Ai

Hello. How are you? Are you enjoying your school life? Now I'm really enjoying my life in NZ! I live in Morrinsville. It is a small town, and it has many cows! I really like Morrinsville and NZ. There are beautiful places to see and visit. This is a really nice place!

I go to Morrinsville College. I take English, math, biology, geography, music, and ESOL classes. Math is very easy, because I've already studied this material before! Geography and biology are really hard for me because there are lots of big words. But, we have field trips in geography, biology and other classes, so I can visit many places and they are good opportunities for me to see around NZ.

Last term, I only talked a little with Kiwi students, because I was a little bit scared to talk to them. I thought I should improve my English first. This term, I decided to communicate with Kiwi students, and now I talk to them more than before. After the holidays, I asked one of my classmates, "How was your holiday?" I always start conversations, "How are you, today?" "What's going on?" and so on. Even though the words I use are very simple, it is very important to start conversations with them. I found that if I say nothing, no one will talk to me, because they think I don't want to talk to anyone. It's hard, but it's very important for me to initiate conversations.

It's very difficult for me to write down or tell people my opinions, because I don't have a large vocabulary. This is one of the most difficult things now. In NZ almost all the questions in the tests begin with "Explain..." "Describe..." So it's very important to enrich your vocabulary while you are in Japan. Read many books and talk to the ALT s to help you acquire a lot of words.

I guess by now you've found that your school work is very hard. I know it's really hard for you! But never give up! I'm sure that it will be a great help when you begin a new life in NZ.?
See you!

Oh, guess what!!! My friend,Alana will participate in a singing competition on the South Island this weekend!!! I can assure you she will win!!
She is quite a nice singer!! She is my best friend in NZ. One day, I went toAlana's house and I talked alot with her!! Then, I went to the park!! It was really fun to talk with her. Last weekend, she came to my host family'shouse!! I showed the book 'YAWARAGI' to her !! Funny, ay??

Hello. How are you? I'm sooooo happy(as you probably know!).?
I got your mail and I decided to write to you?
because I have a message to 'shinnyusei'.
I've told this to Trisha, "please practice listening".
It is really hard to listen to English(even now...).?
Of course the other areas are important too.
BUT, I felt listening was the most difficult.?
If we can't listen, we canユt understand anything, especially at school.?
I don't think I practiced listening enough.?
I regret not doing it now.
It might make you anxious,?
but I can tell you that if you keep being positive,?
your life in NZ will be wonderful.?
Don't be afraid of making mistakes.?
Don't be shy.?
Please speak English.
I know it is hard for you to speak in English.?
But you will have to speak only English in about 10 months.?
Talking with Trisha, David and John is very helpful practice.?
They are so nice and they will help you.

gannbatte kudasai ne!
Thank you.
Love, Nanae
