Kia ora! I\u2019m Haruka and I go to Horowhenua College with my partner Yuina. This school is the first time that Jin-ai students have attended this school, so I was nervous at first. However, kiwi students and teachers are friendly and lovely, so I\u2019m getting used to my school life.<\/p>\n

First, I\u2019m going to talk about my host family. My host father Aaron is a computer technician and when I have some trouble with the computer and my phone, I ask him. I have a funny story. After using the bathroom at night, we have to lock the door, because my host brothers play there in the morning if the door isn\u2019t locked. In fact, a few years ago, my host family had an international student and she forgot to lock the door, so the boys played in the bathroom and their house seems to have got soaked. Then, one night, when I was using the bathroom, I heard a sound which was like the door being locked. Yes, Aaron didn\u2019t notice that I was using the bathroom and he locked the door! I knocked on the door hastily, so he noticed me and removed the door\u2019s lock. If he hadn\u2019t noticed me, I might have slept with a bath towel. (hahaha) My host mother Leah is a kindergarten teacher. Also, she is pregnant. Her baby is a girl and the baby will be born in July. She likes making sweets and she bakes every Monday. I\u2019m looking forward to eating sweets which are made by her every week. My host brothers Joshua and William are always full of energy and mischievous, so my host parents are busy especially in the morning. At first, I worried whether I\u2019d be able to enjoy living with them, but I really enjoy it now.<\/p>\n

Next, I\u2019m going to talk about my Easter holiday. My host parents and their parents gave me some Easter eggs on Good Friday and Easter Day. Good Friday is the day when Jesus was crucified and passed away and Easter Day is the day when Jesus revived. Then, I went to the Armageddon Expo in Wellington with my host father the next day after Good Friday. Before we went there, I was excited, but I was also worried because it takes about an hour and a half from my town, Levin to Wellington by car, so I didn\u2019t have confidence to talk to him for a long time. However, we talked about a lot of things. For example, about religion, transport, NZ and Japan. I couldn\u2019t understand all of his stories, but I enjoyed talking with him. When I arrived at the stadium in which the Expo was being held, I was surprised because there were a lot of cosplayers and their cosplays were of high quality! I was so excited because I saw the cosplayers who wore costumes made to resemble my favorite anime characters and I could take photos with them. Also, when I asked them to take photos, they gladly complied with my requests. I think I could build up nerve to talk to people through this experience. There were many shops (especially anime) and a lot of goods that I hadn\u2019t seen in Japan, so it was a lot of fun and I was excited all through. Then, I met American anime voice actors luckily. I was impressed to be able to hear their voices close to them. \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n

I have a lot of issues that I have to overcome now and it\u2019s very difficult for me to overcome them. However, I decided the goal which is to change myself through study abroad before I came to NZ. I keep trying to realize my goal!<\/p>\n
