Hello! It\u2019s Suzuka from Hastings Girls High School. I live in Hastings where is located in east coast of North Island in NZ. Hastings is a really good place. This summer was the hottest summer that my host parents have ever had. However, it was not wet like Japan, so it was comfortable for me. Now, NZ is autumn and the leaves changed the colour. Also term 1 already finished and term 2 has begun. Then, I\u2019d like to tell you about my NZ life. I\u2019m having a great time with my host family and friends.<\/p>\n

First, let me introduce my host family because they are very nice and I thank them for having me. There are three people, my host mother, father, brother and one dog. My host parents are very kind to me and they help me a lot. Also they teach me things about NZ that I\u2019ve never heard before and I really enjoy having conversations with them. However, when they ask me about Japan, I sometimes can\u2019t answer them. So I need to know more about Japan more. I like making sweets, so I sometimes make sweets with my host mother or by myself. I\u2019ve made cheesecake, cookies, banana cake, chocolate cake, brownies and so on. Recently, my host mother made chocolate pudding and it was very good!! I like it the best. My host brother is only 8 months old and he is very cute!<\/p>\n

When I met him first time, he couldn\u2019t do anything, but now, he can roll over and sit and he has been trying to crawl. I can see his growth and it encourages me a lot. I\u2019 d like to make good memories with them.<\/p>\n

Second, I\u2019m going to tell you about my school life. My school, Hastings Girls High School, has really good students and teachers. They\u2019re very friendly and kind. On the first day of the school, I was nervous and I didn\u2019t know anything about the school. When the time of morning tea came, I didn\u2019t know what time it was. So I asked Kiwi students. I didn\u2019t have any friends to eat with because it was the first day, so I asked a student \u201c Can I eat with you?\u201d and she said \u201c Sure!\u201d. I was very happy! She took me to the place where she eats with her friends and now, they became my best friends. When we speak to Kiwi students, we need some courage, but they are very nice. They won\u2019t say \u201cNo\u201d if we don\u2019t forget to smile!<\/p>\n

I have many things that I\u2019d like to share with you, but I can\u2019t write them all. I\u2019m so happy to come to NZ and meet my host family and friends. I thank my parents and teachers for supporting me from Japan. I\u2019d like to make my studying abroad better and when I\u2019m back to Japan, I\u2019ll continue to grow as a person. I\u2019ll do my best in NZ!!!<\/p>\n
