Hello! How have you been? I\u2019m Agasa. Nine months have passed since I came here. My life in New Zealand is coming to an end. I feel the time has passed so quickly. Today, I\u2019ll tell you about my life here.<\/p>\n

I live in Wanganui and go to Cullinane College. My school is a Catholic school, so many religious ceremonies are held at school. Everyone is very kind and I like this school. Now, I\u2019m really enjoying a full school life.<\/p>\n

However, to be honest, I didn\u2019t like school and I didn\u2019t want to go to school at first. I really didn\u2019t understand what they said, I couldn\u2019t keep up with my classes, I couldn\u2019t find any friends who get along with me and also, I had a problem with my host family. I knew I had to do something positive for myself, but I just couldn\u2019t take action. Because I didn\u2019t have much confidence in my English ability and I always ran away from hard things. Setting a goal is very easy for anybody, but taking action myself was very difficult for me. As time went on, I was becoming to dislike myself. But, I didn\u2019t want to finish my life in New Zealand under those conditions, I decided to start something little by little, from easy and small things. I didn\u2019t wait for my friends to talk, I greeted them first and I tried to keep the conversation going, desperately using my poor English. As a result, I increased the number of my friends little by little. I have to say goodbye to my friends after a month, so it\u2019s so sad for me.<\/p>\n

I imagined that studying abroad would be so much fun before I came here, but there were a lot of hard things for me. This is a different country, of course, with the language barrier I was puzzled at the different living environment many times. Every day is a series of new experiences and there are impressions, surprises and difficulties which I didn\u2019t experience in Japan. Also, in Japan, I counted on my parents for everything, for example, washing, cleaning and so on. I do those things here now, so I have a bigger appreciation for my parents. I have realized the importance of my parents and my friends since leaving Japan. I have expanded my horizons in New Zealand through meeting a lot of people and having a lot of experiences. Both fun experiences and hard experiences have made me strong. I\u2019m sure that this study abroad made a change in me. It will become a good memory in my life.<\/p>\n
