Hi \ud83d\ude04I\u2019m Mao and today, I\u2019d like to talk about what my NZ life is like.
\nI\u2019m living in Kerikeri which is at the top of the north land and I go to Kerikeri high school.<\/p>\n

First of all, I\u2019ll talk about my school life. My school is kind of a big school. There are about 1500 students, and about 80 of us are international students. I think one of the best things about this school is making friends from all over the world. At school, I take Esol, math, science, P.E. , photography and hospitality. Of those subjects, Esol is my favorite. In my Esol class, there are some students from China, Germany, Brazil, Thailand, Italy and Chile. We often talk about the world, and share and compare our own opinions. I feel like that is really cool to learn what everyone thinks about various things and sometimes everyone has different opinions. Many things are understandable and interesting.<\/p>\n

I also like Hospitality. In hospitality class, we cook something twice a week. When I was in Japan, I hadn\u2019t really cooked something because my mum always cooked, so when I first came here, and when I cooked something, my teacher was always like \u201cMao… What are you doing?\u201d or even \u201cWhat are you making?\u201d with a smile. But now, I got better and when we recently had an assessment, I got an excellence! So when I get to Japan, I want to help my mum more than before, and make many kinds of Japanese dishes together.<\/p>\n

Secondly, I\u2019ll talk about my host family.
\nI have a host mum and two host sisters. Actually one of them is also an exchange student, and she is German. It’s also really good to have another exchange student with me because I can get more chances to talk with someone. We are both international students, so we can understand each other about many things even if she has more English skills than me. I’m enjoying having her as a sister.<\/p>\n

My host family is Maori people. My host mum is really funny and kind to me. She has given me a lot of advice about everything. We always talk a lot about anything I want or even she wants. She always makes me laugh\ud83d\ude04 My other host sister is six years old. Actually, I’m the youngest in my Japanese family, so this is the first time to be an older sister, and it’s really cool! She LOVES to play, so we always play some board games or our on a trampoline. I hope I\u2019m a good sister for her.<\/p>\n

Lastly, I want to talk about something important. It has been over nine months and now, we don\u2019t even have one more month left. I can’t believe that my study abroad is almost over, but I\u2019ve experienced A LOT OF THINGS from this study abroad. \u201cYou can change your study abroad life to be a special time for your life or a useless one. Just try your best and enjoy your time. It\u2019s totally up to you.\u201d That\u2019s what my sisters, who also came to NZ as Eiryu students, told me. If they didn\u2019t come to NZ, I\u2019m sure I wouldn’t be here right now. Someday we’ll all come back to NZ and visit our host families together.<\/p>\n

I’m so keen to see my family, friends and teachers this month again. I just want thank everyone who gave me support. Thanks for reading my essay and see you SOON! \ud83d\ude0a\u2764<\/p>\n
