Kia ora tatou! How have you been? It\u2019s Sagan from Taumarunui High School. It is spring in NZ now and it\u2019s getting warmer and warmer. I can\u2019t believe there are only two weeks left until I return to Japan. I feel time has passed so fast. Today, I\u2019d to share my life in New Zealand. <\/p>\n

First of all, I\u2019m going to talk about my school. My school\u2019s system is completely different from other schools\u2019. Honestly, I didn\u2019t like my school system at first, so I couldn\u2019t enjoy my school life. However, I like my school system now because I know what I should do at the school and I got used to it. I take ESOL, math, science, girls\u2019 gym class, art, and outdoor education. My favourite classes are art and outdoor education. Let me tell you what I\u2019ve done in art class. I\u2019m always designing clothes because I want to be a designer in the future. However, I didn\u2019t have confidence in my own designs because I compared them with other people\u2019s designs. One day, a turning point came. My class teacher said to me \u2018you should make a costume for wearable arts. I like your jellyfish design dress.\u2019 I was happy because my teacher liked my design. So, I entered it in Wearable Arts 2018, a contest for costumes made from recycled things such as newspaper, plastic bags, tires, sponges, cardboard boxes, plastic table cloths, and others. I made a dress which looked like a jellyfish from a plastic table cloth. I was awarded a certificate for secondary division runner-up on that day. I was happy again because my design was recognized. Also, my friends said to me \u2018I\u2019m proud of you Sagan! Well done.\u2019 I gained confidence through wearable arts. <\/p>\n

By the way, I like outdoor education too. We can go kayaking, mountain biking, tramping, and snow sport during each term. I\u2019ve taken this class since term two. Term two activity was mountain biking. I imagined that mountain biking would be so much fun and easy to do before I did it, but it was so hard for me. However, I keep challenging it because I knew that challenging something is the step for improving. <\/p>\n

Next, I\u2019d like to talk about my awesome friends. My best friends are Mihi, Shania, Nicole, and Shaquita. They are so kind to me and fun to be with. I like talking with them, but at the beginning of the relationship between them, I couldn\u2019t enjoy talking with them. Needless to say, I couldn\u2019t understand their English and I didn\u2019t have any confidence in my English. So, I didn\u2019t even talk with them a lot. I was wrong. One day, Mihi said to me \u2018you are so quiet.\u2019 I was sad and regret because it was full of my fault. After that, I tried talking a lot with them, although it was not going well because they couldn\u2019t understand my English sometimes. I knew what I could do was continue talking with them. Now, I really enjoy it. I want to say thank you to them. I love them. I also like being with international students. They are so funny, but also crazy. I love being with them because I\u2019m always laughing with them. <\/p>\n

I had a lot of unforgettable experiences here, both pleasant and bitter. Theses experience can\u2019t replace other things in my life. And, I think they will be helpful to me in the future. I\u2019m happy to be able to come here. I have a great host family, friends, and teachers. I really want to say thank you to my family, my friends, and teachers who are supporting me from Japan. I\u2019ll enjoy and have a meaningful time until the last moment of my stay. <\/p>\n
