Kia ora! \u00a0Hello guys. \u00a0I\u2019m Shiho and I go to Kerikeri High School. \u00a0I can\u2019t believe that I have already stayed here more than half a year. \u00a0 Everything here is amazing for me and I definitely enjoy my life in NZ. \u00a0Please let me introduce my amazing life in Kerikeri.<\/p>\n

First, let me introduce my lovely host family. \u00a0There are four people in my family, my host father, host mother, host brother and me. \u00a0And also we have two little cute dogs and one pussy cat as well. \u00a0My host family likes to look after people. \u00a0There are many people who are from Vanuatu in Kerikeri. They are here to work for their families back in their home country. \u00a0My host parents told me that they need to earn money for their kids to go to school and it\u2019s pretty difficult to find jobs in their country. \u00a0We often have lunch or dinner with them in our house on weekends and they are so lovely.\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
At school, I take six subjects, which are music, advanced PE, DVC, hospitality, ESOL and math. \u00a0Each subject is more professional than that of Japan. \u00a0I like all subjects that I take. \u00a0Have you ever heard of the subject called DVC before? \u00a0It\u2019s an abbreviation of \u201cDesign and Visual Communication.\u201d \u00a0 We use an architecture program on a computer to create 3-D house and then we build a miniature sized house model. \u00a0My DVC teacher\u2019s drawings are amazing. \u00a0When I saw him draw for the first time, it was like a magic because his hand moved fast. \u00a0In the twinkling of an eye, a drawing of a modern house was created on the paper. \u00a0I was just speechless with surprise. \u00a0It\u2019s pretty cool, isn\u2019t it? \u00a0In music class, we compose music and I have already made four pieces of music. \u00a0My teacher told me how to create music. \u00a0She told me to see a picture in order to compose music. \u00a0She said to me, \u201cCan you think of a melody when you see a picture? \u201c It was pretty difficult for me to make music from a picture. \u00a0I was like OMG. \u00a0 I had no idea what she was talking about. LOL. \u00a0However, now I can understand what my teacher says. \u00a0 Besides composition, we have to do solo performances and group performances as well. I played the piano two times as solo performance and I played the bass guitar with my friends as group performance. \u00a0Music class is pretty exciting for me because everyone in my music class can play an instrument and they can play it very well.\u00a0<\/div>\n

I joined a tennis club in my town until June and now I take Zumba lessons and play badminton. \u00a0I\u2019m a member of the badminton club in school now and about 15 people are in the club. \u00a0Fortunately, since I have played badminton before, I can play it well and it isn\u2019t hard for me to keep a rally. \u00a0 Even when I rally with a person who I don\u2019t really know, I can naturally talk with the person. \u00a0Even during the rally we call out to each other. \u00a0I was glad when I won the practice game with my badminton friend:)<\/div>\n

At last I am deeply grateful to the people who support me in Japan and in New Zealand. \u00a0What I am sure is that the time which I spend here will be an unforgettable experience. \u00a0Everything was tough for me at the beginning. \u00a0However, I think I\u2019ve overcome so many difficulties and that I\u2019ve grown and will keep growing even more as a person \ud83d\ude42\u00a0<\/div>\n
