\/><\/p>\n<div>Hello! \u00a0How is everything with you? \u00a0I\u2019m Ayaka Shibuya. \u00a0About six months have passed since I left Japan. \u00a0Many things are still very hard for me to do but I\u2019m enjoying my NZ life. \u00a0I\u2019m going to tell you about my NZ life.<\/div>\n<div>I\u2019m introducing my host family. \u00a0My host family members are my host mother, my host father and my host sister. \u00a0They are Maori. \u00a0They\u2019re really good. \u00a0Also, they have two cute kittens and six chickens. \u00a0They have big gardens. \u00a0I can have fresh vegetables every day. \u00a0I like my host mother\u2019s food. \u00a0I especially like her lasagna. \u00a0I think that the lasagna she cooks is the best in NZ!! \u00a0My host mother will teach me how to make lasagna. \u00a0I often talk about many things with my host father. \u00a0He always corrects my English pronunciations and gives me advice about school. \u00a0He is a butcher. \u00a0I have watched his job once. \u00a0I think his job is really hard because they have to cut a lot of beef quickly. \u00a0My host sister is seven years old. \u00a0She is a very good girl. \u00a0She is really cute, friendly and cheerful, but sometimes she is willful. \u00a0She plays netball and hockey. \u00a0She is a good player. \u00a0She likes dancing and singing very much. \u00a0She often shows me her dances. \u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>My host family puts some mattresses in the lounge, and they sleep there every night. \u00a0It is similar to Japanese style!! \u00a0I was really surprised when I saw that for the first time. \u00a0I sleep with them only on the weekends. \u00a0I like to sleep like that because it makes me feel as if we are a real family!! \u00a0Maori\u2019s way of thinking is very similar to the Japanese way of thinking. \u00a0They like sharing, laughing, being together as a family and so on. \u00a0I love my host family.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I\u2019m going to tell you about my school. \u00a0My school is Hauraki Plains College. \u00a0I take English, Math, Science, Geography\/History, P.E, Drama, ESOL and Maori culture. \u00a0I enjoy every class, but some classes are really hard for me. \u00a0I like Maori culture class because I can learn many things about Maori and I can talk about the class with my host family. \u00a0We drew traditional Maori pictures in that class. \u00a0When I designed a picture, everyone praised my picture. \u00a0I was so happy. \u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Drama class is the hardest for me because I have to talk about how our group will act for the subject with my group members, and we have to act after that on the stage. \u00a0I often cannot understand what my group members are talking about. \u00a0Also, we often don\u2019t use script. \u00a0We act impromptu. \u00a0I must understand English and talk while acting. \u00a0I sometimes lose heart, but I keep trying my best.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I have joined choir. \u00a0It is so fun!! \u00a0Our choir teacher is one of the best choir teachers in NZ!! \u00a0I enjoy every practice. \u00a0I look forward to going to the practice every time. \u00a0I had a choir competition on June 6th. \u00a0We had practiced hard for the competition. \u00a0We sang \u201cGloria\u201d, \u201cWeep no more\u201d and \u201cYesterday.\u201d \u00a0I was little bit nervous when we performed, but I enjoyed singing very much. \u00a0Although we could not get any prize, I was satisfied with everything. \u00a0Also, I have joined badminton club. \u00a0I could not play badminton well before, but I can play it better now than before like others because I have played it with strong players!! \u00a0Fortunately I met many new students there.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I have some kiwi friends. \u00a0They are really nice to me. \u00a0They always help me when we have the same classes. \u00a0However, I wonder if they are my real friends. \u00a0I know many good students who are nice to me, but making good friends is really hard. \u00a0I will do my best to become better friends with them.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Now I\u2019ll introduce one of my memorable experiences. \u00a0I joined an event called \u201cStage Challenge\u201d. \u00a0It was like a dance competition. \u00a0I had never heard about it before but I was interested in it so I joined it. \u00a0Actually, I had to audition for it!! \u00a0I didn\u2019t think I would pass it because many girl students auditioned for it. \u00a0Fortunately I was able to pass the audition!! \u00a0The event was composed of a hip-hop group, a jazz group, a drama group and a ballet group. \u00a0I joined the ballet group. \u00a0I learned ballet for about two years in Japan but other members of my group were really good ballerinas so I was worried about whether I could dance well like others. \u00a0However, my group members were very kind to me, and they taught me how to dance. \u00a0I could make new friends.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>On June 16th, we performed in Tauranga. \u00a0We had practiced hard for it. \u00a0I was really excited. \u00a0We put on makeup and got dressed up in beautiful costumes. \u00a0I had to do almost everything by myself. \u00a0It was very hard for me because adult people had done everything for me in Japan. \u00a0I could enjoy dancing when we were performing. \u00a0I was really sad that we could not get 1st prize. \u00a0However, I think this was a great experience for me. \u00a0I also could watch other schools\u2019 great performances and talk with them. \u00a0I was so happy. \u00a0I am so happy to have been able to join Stage Challenge.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I am very thankful to my family, my friends and my teachers in Japan for helping me and watching over me fondly. \u00a0I have been having a really good time in NZ. \u00a0I have only about 4 months left until I go back to Japan. \u00a0I will be really sad to leave NZ. \u00a0I want to spend my life in NZ with no regrets. \u00a0I never forget \u201cTo be myself\u201d, and I will enjoy myself and try everything in the remaining four months in NZ.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Thank you for
