My classmates and I stayed in Rotorua for the first two weeks, and we commuted to John Paul College. \u00a0 We learned about New Zealand, such as Maori culture, its geography, its history and sports. \u00a0It was during the holiday for kiwi students, so the classes were just for us. \u00a0 In the morning, we studied in the classroom, then in the afternoon, we visited exciting places. \u00a0Among the places we visited, Te Puia was the most exciting place for me because I could see kiwi birds there. \u00a0Kiwi birds live only in New Zealand and they are an endangered species. \u00a0The house of kiwi birds was very dark because they are nocturnal, but I was able to find them. \u00a0They were so cute and I want to see them again! \u00a0In Te Puia, I also enjoyed seeing Maori culture and geysers. \u00a0I had a very good time there.<\/div>\n

After we spent two weeks in Rotorua, I came to Ruakaka, where I live now. \u00a0At school, I take English, math, science, music, geography, hospitality and E.S.O.L. \u00a0I join the classes as a usual student. \u00a0It is hard for me to understand what my teachers say, but some subjects are easy for me because I have already learned the information in Japan. \u00a0My aim is to speak to kiwi students whom I haven\u2019t talked to and to make friends. \u00a0It is not easy for me, but I\u2019ll never give up.<\/div>\n

I\u2019ll introduce my host family. \u00a0There are only my host mother and a dog in my host family, but we enjoy our life. \u00a0We often go to the beach because we can go there in five minutes by car!! \u00a0The beaches in New Zealand are not crowded and the water is very clear! \u00a0A couple of weeks ago, I collected many shells at the beach and put them on the mirror which is hung on the wall in my room. \u00a0Decorated with the shells, the mirror looks so pretty. \u00a0My host mother talked to some neighbours about the mirror, and then they visited my room to see it. \u00a0The mirror is my favourite thing in my room.<\/div>\n

The other day, I went fishing on a boat with my host mother and her friends. \u00a0Actually, I had never been fishing before, so I was worried if I would be able to catch fish. \u00a0However, to my great surprise, I caught five fish. \u00a0They were including the first one and the biggest one. On the other hand, my host mother didn\u2019t catch anything. She and her friends praised me. \u00a0The next day, we ate the fish I caught as fish and chips for dinner. \u00a0It was so yummy. \u00a0Since the day of the fishing trip, I have begun to be called \u201cfisherwoman\u201d by some people who know my fishing skills.<\/div>\n

As you can see, I experience new things every day, and I really enjoy my life in New Zealand. \u00a0I already don\u2019t want to go back to Japan!! (I\u2019m sorry for my family, teachers, friends and other people who are waiting for me to come back.) Anyway, I learn English and experience many things here.<\/div>\n
