\u3000Hello! I\u2019m Konomi. I live in Whanganui and I go to Cullinane College. Term three has just finished and it is a school holiday now. Time flies and I can\u2019t believe that I am a second grade Jin-ai student. I love Whanganui because it\u2019s not too warm, but also it\u2019s not too cold. There is only one and half months left\u2026 I don\u2019t want to leave here\u2026. I\u2019m so sad. Anyway, I\u2019d like to write about my life in New Zealand today.
\n\u3000<\/span>First, I\u2019d like to write about my school. Cullinane College is a Catholic school. I love Cullinane because everyone is soooo kind! There are not so many students in Cullinane. I think the number of students is about three hundred and I\u2019m from a small junior high school, so I have a sense of closeness.<\/span>
\n\u3000\u00a0I\u2019m taking ESOL, math, religion study, dance, music, health and food. Students of Cullinane College must take religion study because Cullinane is a Catholic school, like I said. Every Tuesday, we have assembly to pray to God. In food class, I\u2019m learning how to make Italian food so I\u2019m going to make them for my Japanese family!! When I came here, I was sooo worried about math because I hated it in Japan. I heard it was not so hard because I already knew how to figure questions out. It must be easy, but it is difficult for me even though I\u2019m learning it in New Zealand haha. I think it\u2019s only<\/span> me. RE (Religion Study) is the most difficult class for me and kiwi students. Before holidays start, we have to take an exam and it\u2019s the most difficult I\u2019ve ever done here. In music class, I played the piano in a band. My band member said my piano sounds really good so I was so happy! My dance teacher knows I love dancing so she suggested I join dance team, so I became a member of them and I had two dance competitions. My team couldn\u2019t get any prize but it was a fun and awesome memory!!
\n\u3000<\/span>Second, I\u2019d like to write about my friends in New Zealand. There was a group which I wanted to join during break time since I came here. However, I was chicken so I couldn\u2019t ask them and I was just wishing that I could join them \u201csomeday.\u201d Then, one of my friend said to me, \u201cYou are saying you want to join that group \u2018someday,\u2019 but when is \u2018someday?\u2019 If you\u2019ll join them \u2018someday,\u2019 that means you have to ask them \u2018someday\u2019 that you want to join, so you should ask them as soon as possible.\u201d I realized I was trying to escape from asking them. Thanks to her, I\u2019m a member of that group and we\u2019re really good friends now!!!<\/span>
\n\u3000I think it\u2019s easy to put into words, but it was so difficult to ask kiwis if I can hang out with them or not because I imagined lots of things. For example, \u201cWhat should I do if they say no?\u201d or \u201cIf I ask them, do they think I\u2019m a strange person?\u201d But actually it\u2019s not true. Kiwis are kinder than I thought. It\u2019s not easy to study in other countries, but I believe that when I feel it\u2019s hard and I have to overcome something, that\u2019s a time when I can grow up. I only have one and a half months to go. I have to go the extra mile to study English in New Zealand!!!<\/span>
